oh sweet mama...

my sweet mama is so so great (to say the LEAST!)

she would do anything in the world for us -- and loves us sooo much. So, one thing (of the many cool things) my mom did when we were little was paint portraits of us! i love this, shows such love and care for us and i feel so honored she took the time to do this. a mommas love for her babies is the sweetest. i want so badly to keep the tradition rolling, so--we took these pics, before we moved last year, I'm starting to paint this one:

I decided to paint from a photo b/c frankly I am not quite talented enough to paint my sweet little lady in action (how can i get the detail of her sweet little expressions when she moves as fast as she does?! how did my mom do this?) so impossible i would think!!

p.s. i just loved these articles about working mommas, so inspiring...

happy week...super busy here, working on a fun handbag illustration project and a few paper goodies here and there. what a week! whew. and not to mention, my scanner completely died on me today and i just installed a new one--wish me luck!
